Takumi Wada, the 4th year of Systems Management Program won the Best Paper Award

of ACMSA (Asian Conference of Management Science and Applications) 2013 in Yunnan, China.

What is ACMSA?

ACMSA (Asian Conference of Management Science and Applications) is an international

conference which targets researchers within and beyond the Asian region on Management

Engineering and Systems Management. Every year Best Paper Award is presented to

outstanding theses. This time three theses out of 103 have been selected as Best Paper

Award 2013.

★ Award winning topics:

Algorithm for Process Design in Cell Production Aimed at High Productivity

(Collaborative research with Prof. Masahiro Arakawa, Department of Civil Engineering and Systems Management)

★Research content:

In this study, process design aimed at high productivity is discussed for cell production.

New types of algorithm composed of multi-objective genetic algorithm and event-driven

simulation is developed to design process line in which fluctuation of operation time is

considered. Furthermore, this algorithm can determine small size of buffers between work

centers to promote productivity. Numerical experiment shows the proposed algorithm is

effective to design process line generating high productivity.
