Call for Applications: Tenure-track faculty positions at Nagoya Institute of Technology (1st Term)
Nagoya Institute of Technology (NIT) has initiated a project titled "Fostering Young and Innovative Researchers based on Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration” this fiscal year, and as a part of this project, we invite young researchers to apply for tenure-track positions. This project is funded by a program called “Supporting Young Researchers with Fixed-term Appointments,” which is a part of the Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
Under this project, the Center for Fostering Young and Innovative Researchers will be established, and a tenure-track system will be installed. Successful candidates should be able to perform their researches at internationally competitive levels, and, in the future, take a leading role in research and education in interdisciplinary research fields within NIT and contribute to stimulating the research activities of NIT, through production of the new innovation and the development of new research fields, etc. To achieve such goals, successful candidates will belong to the center and be provided with the independent research environment. We are now soliciting applications from young researchers with creative and unique research proposals in the fields of research specified below. The successful candidates will be appointed as designated faculty (i.e. faculty position with a limited term) and receive university-wide support as well as funding and space for their research.
During their terms, the scientific and academic performances of successful candidates will be evaluated twice, at the middle and end of their terms, in order to determine whether to grant a tenured position (e.g. associate professorship). Additionally, successful candidates will receive supporting advice on their careers such as possibility for working in other research institutes as well as industry.
