大使館推薦制度を利用し、国費外国人留学生に応募するには、自国にある日本国大使館（または総領事館）を通して申請書を提出後に、書類審査、筆記試験および面接等により選考されます。選考スケジュールおよび申請方法については、自国の日本国大使館（または総領事館）へお問い合わせください。
When a student overseas applies for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship by the Embassy Recommendation, applicants must submit an application through the Japanese Embassy (or consulate general) in their home country, and then be selected through document screening, a written examination, and an interview. Please contact the Japanese Embassy (or consulate-general) in your home country for information on the selection schedule and application method.

- 希望する指導教員を名古屋工業大学研究者データベースで調べてください。
First search for your prospective supervisor in the NITech Researcher Database. - 本学のホームページ「入試案内」の下部「参照用」にある該当年度の担当教員一覧で、希望する指導教員の氏名があるか確認した上で、指導教員とメールでコンタクトをとり、指導教員の受入の承諾を得てください。
In addition, after confirming whether the name of the prospective supervisor you wish to apply for is in the list of academic advisors（担当教員一覧）in the applicable academic year at the bottom of our website "入試案内 / Admission guide" under "参照用 / Reference" section, please contact with the prospective supervisor directly and ask for their acceptance. - 希望する指導教員から承諾を得たら、国際交流課へ「希望指導教員の氏名」をメールに明記の上、次の必要書類を添付して、受入内諾書の発行を国際交流課まで依頼してください。
Once you have obtained the acceptance, send an e-mail to the International Affairs Division, specifying the name of the desired academic advisor and the following required documents attached.

大使館推薦による国費外国人留学生の学部留学生は、本学に入学する前に1年間日本語等予備教育機関で予備教育を受講後、翌年4月に入学することができます。また、研究留学生は4月又は10月に研究生として入学し、半年間は日本語研修コースを受講します。
Undergraduate MEXT Scholarship students on the Embassy recommendation can enroll in April of the following year after completing one year of preparatory education at a preparatory educational institution. MEXT Scholarship research students on the Embassy Recommendation will be enrolled as research students at NITech either in April or October, and they will take a Japanese language course for six months after arriving in Japan.
