This scholarship was established in 2008 based on the donation from the Brother Industries, Ltd. for the purpose of fostering global talents who could contribute to the development of manufacturing industries in the 21^st century, and promoting human interaction beyond the national boundaries.

This year, the scholarship is awarded to Mr. Vijayan Suseendran from India, who will be the 6^th term's Brother scholar. In the ceremony, he was awarded the scholar certificate from the president Mr. Hiroyuki Ukai. And then, Mr. Hiroyuki Wakahara, Executive Officer of Brother Industries, Ltd. gave him speech, Mr. Suseendran replied with a word of appreciation and spoke his plan and hope about the research and study in NITech.
