Procedures Relating to Application for Conferral of Doctoral Degree
Academics
Students who wish to apply for conferral of a doctoral degree at Nagoya Institute of Technology are asked to refer to the below-listed requirements in making the necessary application procedures.
1. Dissertation Doctorate
Candidates Eligible to Apply for the Dissertation Doctoral Degree
Students whose dissertations have been approved at the examination/evaluation meeting held by faculty members of the department ("Department in Charge") to which the dissertation is submitted, who will include the faculty member in charge of the dissertation ("Faculty Member in Charge"). The Department in Charge and the Faculty Member in Charge will have been previously designated.
(Students should ask their Faculty Member in Charge for the dates etc. of the internal examination/evaluation meeting of the Department in Charge.)

| Dissertation Examination Fee | 57,000 JPY |
Application and Conferral Periods
Students whose dissertations have been approved at the internal examination/evaluation meeting of the Department in Charge should apply for conferral of degree at the following times of year:
- Designated period in March (Conferral: June)
- Designated period in June (Conferral: September)
- Designated period in September (Conferral: December)
- Designated period in January (Conferral: March)

2. Course Doctorate
Candidates Eligible to Apply for the Course Doctoral degree
In principle, students who have completed the necessary coursework and research with their Instructing Faculty Member by the end of the first semester of their third successive year in the doctoral program, and whose dissertations have been approved at their department's internal examination/evaluation meeting.
(Students should ask their department for the dates etc. of the internal examination/evaluation meeting.)

Application and Conferral Periods

Students who are or seem likely to be registered in the doctoral degree program for more than three years and who have had their dissertations approved at their department's internal examination/evaluation meeting based on the judgment of their Instructing Faculty Member, may apply for the grant of a degree at the following times:
- Designated period in March (Conferral: June)
- Designated period in June (Conferral: September)
- Designated period in September (Conferral: December)
- Designated period in January (Conferral: March)
