NITech delegation deepened exchanges by the visit to FAU

Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech) and Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, will jointly establish "Nagoya Institute of Technology and Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen Nürnberg Joint Degree Doctoral Program in Energy Conversion Systems" (Doctoral Program) and launch the joint degree (JD) program in April 2024 to jointly award a single degree to students who complete the program.
From January 22nd (Monday) to January 25th (Thursday), 2024, Mr. MIYAKAWA Tsutomu, Director-General, Prof. Dr. KAKIMOTO Ken-ichi, Vice President, Director of NITech FAU Liaison Office, and other faculty and administrative staff visited FAU. They met with Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger, President, Prof. Dr. Andreas Hirsch, Vice President, Mr. Christian Zens, Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kai Willner, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schatz, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and other FAU executives and discussed the JD program and effective use of the NITech FAU Liaison Office on FAU campus in the future.
During the visit, a review for the joint research programme conducted by both NITech and FAU jointly was also held at the same time. Mr. BESSHO Kenichi, Consul General of Japanese Consulate General Munich, gave a speech welcoming the opening of the JD program and collaboration between FAU and NITech. Then, the related people exchanged views on the further strengthening of cooperation between Japan and Germany, including FAU and NITech.
NITech will continue to further deepen its cooperation with FAU, centering on the JD Program, and strive to develop global human resources and advance international joint research.
