Publishing : December 9, 2024

Our partner university, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)was selected for the UTFORSK program of the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir). The title of the selected project is "Norwegian-Japanese collaboration on Sustainability and Recycling in Aluminium alloy development (SuReAl)". On the Japanese side, Institute of Science Tokyo (former Tokyo Institute of Technology) is the main partner, and Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech) participates as a partner (Dr. NARITA Mami, Assistant Professor, Physical Engineering Group) in this four-year project that will last until December 2028.
This project aims to develop students with a more international and comprehensive perspective on materials R&D and its practical application, the environment and energy, etc., through the organization of internships, summer schools and workshops in which the students will participate in common research issues on microstructure control of aluminum alloys that contribute to carbon neutrality.
In 2020, NITech concluded an interdepartmental academic exchange agreement with Faculty of Engineering at NTNU and has had active exchanges with the university since then. Through this project, further expansion of collaboration is highly anticipated.
