Nagoya Institute of Technology International Strategy
In the Charter of Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech), our fundamental mission is to develop revolutionary science and technologies, foster promising human resources, and contribute to peace and future social welfare. In line with this mission, our international strategy aims to promote technological development and problem-solving through "Co-creation with the industries of Chukyo area" by globalization and building a diverse research environment to promote world-class advanced research. Leveraging our advantage as an engineering university located in one of the world's leading industrial hubs, the Chukyo area, we present the following initiatives as our international strategy to enhance our educational and research capabilities.
I. Promotion of International Collaborative Research
To address the challenges sought by society and industry, we will develop exchanges with world-class research institutes into international collaborative research. This will invigorate and advance our research, aiming for societal impact through its social implementation. Furthermore, we will actively disseminate its results both domestically and internationally to enhance our global presence.
II. Promotion of International Human Exchange
We will actively accept international students and researchers while encouraging students to study abroad. Additionally, by encouraging faculty members to devote themselves to research at overseas institutes and inviting internationally active researchers from overseas, we will promote human exchange with the international academic community, creating a virtuous cycle of internationalization.
III. Cultivating Global Advanced Engineering Human Resources
We will cultivate international perspectives among our students through curricula where international students and Japanese students learn together and by encouraging all motivated students to study abroad. Moreover, we will help cultivate global advanced engineering human resources capable of thriving internationally by involving students in practical engineering education that makes the most of international collaborative research opportunities.
IV. Development of a System to Promote Internationalization
To promote safe and smooth international collaborative research, we will set up governance systems, such as security export control and intellectual property management, and adhere to internationally required compliance. Additionally, we will promote internationalization at home by improving foreign language proficiency in education, research, and administration, and create an environment where a diverse range of people can play an active role.
