On Friday, January 9, 2026, an international exchange event titled "Japanese Calligraphy Workshop" was held. A total of 21 students participated, including 8 Japanese students and 13 international students from 12 different countries, creating a vibrant and multicultural atmosphere.

During the event, the support student staff gave a presentation on the culture of calligraphy in Japan and the tools used in the art. In addition, they  demonstrated basic brush techniques using the character "永" (meaning "eternity") and "愛"(meaning "love")to clearly explain the basic brush techniques such as tome (stop), hane (upward flick) and harai (sweep). After practicing these techniques, participants completed their own calligraphy pieces on square paper and shared their finished works with each other.

Many international students commented that they rarely have opportunities to write kanji, making the experience refreshing and enjoyable. Japanese students naturally assisted their peers throughout the session, and international students introduced their own languages and scripts, fostering deeper interaction. The event provided a meaningful opportunity for active cultural exchange.
