The international event "Connect with Indian students! INDIA WEEK - Bringing India Closer" was held from February 9 (Mon.) to 13 (Fri.), 2026, excluding the 11th. A total of 56 participants--30 students and 26 faculty and staff members--joined the event. Participants included those planning to visit India for study or research, those with previous experience traveling to India, and those who casually stopped by out of interest, creating a gathering with diverse backgrounds.
During the event, two Indian students stayed on-site throughout the week and introduced various aspects of India, ranging from its diverse food culture to music and dance-while incorporating historical bacnground as well as geographical and religious factors. Many questions were raised regarding India's significant regional diversity, and active discussions followed each presentation. Hands-on activities such as trying on saris and Punjabi dresses, tasting traditional Indian sweets, practicing yoga poses, and enjoying freshly prepared chai with cardamom and ginger were also very well received.
Additionally, international students from 14 countries participated, making the event a valuable opportunity to learn about Indian culture from multiple perspectives.
Through this event, participants deepened their understanding of diversity and intercultural exchange by exploring India's rich cultural variety.
