On July 9, 2026, NITech held a Judo Workshop, a cultural experience event for international students, at the university's judo dojo. The workshop aimed to deepen participants' understanding of judo, one of Japan's traditional martial arts, and was attended by 10 international and Japanese students.

The workshop began with an introduction by members of the Judo Club, who explained the history of judo, the ranking system based on belt colors, and the different types of techniques. This was followed by demonstrations of various judo techniques. Participants then had the opportunity to wear a judo uniform and practice fundamental movements, including gripping and footwork, under the guidance of the club members. With one club member assigned to every one or two participants, each student received attentive, hands-on instruction.

For many of the international students, this was their first experience with judo. Nevertheless, they listened attentively to the guidance provided by the club members and enthusiastically participated in the activities. The workshop concluded with a demonstration match by members of the Judo Club, allowing participants to observe the power and techniques of judo up close. 

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of Japanese traditional culture while fostering interaction between international and Japanese students. NITech will continue to promote initiatives that encourage cross-cultural understanding and international exchange among students.
