A visit by the Director and Researchers from the IRCER (Institute of Research for Ceramics) of France CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), and Attaché for Science and Project manager from the French Embassy in Japan.

From March 4th to 5th, 2024, Dr. Philippe Thomas (IRCER Director), Dr. Samuel Bernard (Research Director) and 3 researchers from the IRCER, CNRS, Dr. Jean-Baptiste Bordes (Attaché for Science) and Dr. Bénédicte Guillemin (Project manager) from Office for Science and Technology, Embassy of France in Japan visited Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech).
CNRS is France's largest government basic research institute, and many of the principal researchers of the CNRS serve as faculty at the University of Limoges and ENSIL-ENSCI.
NITech and the University of Limoges concluded an academic exchange agreement in 2003, and to date, more than 200 faculty members and 40 students have exchanged.
In 2019, under the framework of the IRP (International Research Project) supported by the CNRS, the IRCER, the University of Limoges and NITech began promoting joint research work and deepening student exchanges between the two universities. To mark the launch of the second phase of the IRP, "Functional inorganic materials for global social challenges (FRESH)", a kickoff meeting was held at NITech, where six researchers presented their research results.
