The Health Support Center provides health checkups, medical consultations, and counseling by a clinical psychologist. Nurses also provide health advice, first aid, and referrals to medical institutions.

If You Are Injured or Feeling Unwell

Public health nurses and nurses provide first aid and health advice on a walk-in basis. Over-the-counter medicines are not available at the Health Center.

Health Checkups

For Students

Schedules and instructions will be posted on the student bulletin board in the university portal. Students who need special health examinations will receive information through their academic supervisors.

Type of Checkup	Who Should Attend and When
Regular student health checkup	For all students enrolled in April. Normally held in April.
Special health examination for radiation work	For students who handle radiation in experiments, practical classes, research, or similar activities. Held twice a year.
Special health examination for handling hazardous substances	For students who handle organic solvents or other hazardous substances in experiments, practical training, research, or similar activities.

What the Regular Health Checkup Includes

Height and weight, blood pressure, vision, urine tests for glucose and protein, hearing screening using conversational speech, a medical examination, and a chest X-ray.
A chest X-ray is required in principle for newly admitted undergraduate and graduate students, including transfer students. It is optional for other students.

If You Receive a Follow-up Notice

Depending on your results, you may be advised to undergo repeat testing, visit a medical institution, or receive a health consultation or health guidance. Please follow the instructions in your notice.

Health Certificates

For Students

If you need a health certificate for an internship, employment, further study, a scholarship application, or a part-time job, please check the following information.

Your Situation	How to Obtain a Certificate
You need a certificate in the university's standard format	Use a certificate issuing machine. The date when certificates become available will be announced on the student bulletin board in the university portal.
A company, school, or other organization requires its own form	Bring the designated form and a health certificate printed from a certificate issuing machine to the Health Center. We can certify only the examination items you completed during the university's regular health checkup.
You did not attend the university's regular health checkup	The university cannot issue a health certificate. Please consult a nearby medical institution or your regular doctor. Contact the Health Center if you would like a referral to a health checkup provider.
You are a non-degree research student	Certificate issuing machines are not available to non-degree research students. Please apply at the Health Center. Allow two days for issuance.

How to Obtain Certificates and Use the Certificate Machines

If Your Student ID Number Will Change

From April of the academic year in which your student ID number changes, you will no longer be able to print certificates using your previous number. If you will need certificates in the next academic year, print the required number of copies before the current academic year ends.

For Faculty and Staff

Please apply at the Health Center. Certificates cover the examination items you completed during the university's regular health checkup. Allow approximately three days from application to issuance.

The Health Center is in the southwestern part of Gokiso Campus. Walk south between NITech Hall and the library; the center is at the end of the path.

Personal information provided during consultations is handled appropriately, with due regard for your privacy.
