Mr. Shuto Ito receives Student Award of ALC' 15

Mr. Shuto Ito receives Student Award of 10th International Symposium on Atomic Level Characterizations for New Materials and Devices '15 (ALC' 15).

In his bachelor and master thesis, he have focused on the development of novel liquid transport inspired by a coastal animal, which is capable of spontaneous water transport without using eternal energies. He reported in the symposium that he successfully devised a method of modifying the shape and properties on a liquid channel which makes the surface over-writable and liquid-selectable for certain liquids. This technology can be of a great benefit in reusable microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip devices in the future.
