Grasper having tactile sensing function using acoustic reflection for laparoscopic surgery
This award is given to the best poster presentation at the Annual Conference of the International Society for Computer Aided Surgery held in Barcelona, Spain, June 22-24, 2017
Ly's comments:
I am so honored to have received the ISCAR-CARS2017 best poster award. In this study, we developed a prototype grasper having tactile sensing function using acoustic reflection. This grasper has high adaptability to a clinical environment because it has no electrical element within the part that is inserted into the patient's body. In the future, we strongly believe that it will contribute to make surgery safer and more accurate. I will continue to advance the research toward a practical application.
