MIPE Award

(MIPE2022)

Award-winning research

"Haptic Display To Control Vibrotactile And Frictional Force Independently Involving Visual Feedback"

This award was given to papers that were evaluated as having excellent content at an international conference jointly held by the Information, Intelligence and Precision (IIP) Equipments Division of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) and the Information Storage and Processing Systems (ISPS) Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Award winner's comments

I am very honored to receive the MIPE Award. In this research, we developed a device that can simulate tactile sensations by using "vibration" and "friction", which are important mechanical elements in human tactile perception. We aim to elucidate tactile perception by analyzing the influence of each element. This research, which is positioned as basic research, often faces problems, but I will continue to push forward with my research toward further results.
