"Toward Democratic Laboratory: LLM-based Coaching Agent for Promoting Students' Autonomy"
In recent years, many organizations are attempting to transition from a top-down management style to a flatter, more democratic structure. However, one challenge is that change is difficult when there is a low level of autonomy within the organization. To address this issue, we developed a coaching agent using ChatGPT. After receiving coaching from this agent, participants showed improvements in their sense of self-efficacy in the areas of knowledge, skills, and confidence. Additionally, some users also showed improvements in self-understanding and metacognition when using this agent.
Award winner's comments
Shiramatsu Laboratory researches and develops civic tech (Civic x Technology) with the aim of creating "a world where people can combine their wisdom to confront social problems". In this project, coaching agent using ChatGPT aims to improve the self-efficacy in the organization which are reluctant to reform the organization or create rules. In the future, we would like to help them set up action plans and act. We would like to thank Professor Shiramatsu and the people who supported my research for this award, and I sincerely appreciate everyone's support.
