A joint symposium between Nagoya Institute of Technology and the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine was held

On October 10 (Tuesday), a joint symposium between Nagoya Institute of Technology and the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine (co-sponsored by the Academia-Industry collaboration platform for cultivating Medical AI leaders (AI-MAILs) and the Medical Engineering Collaboration Center) was held at NITech Hall.

The event, moderated by Professor HONTANI Hidekata, Department of Engineering (Computer Science), Nagoya Institute of Technology, began with opening remarks from Dr. MATSUO Seiichi, Chancellor of Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, and Dr. KINOSHITA Takatoshi, President of Nagoya Institute of Technology. Dr. MATSUO touched on the basic agreement concluded in April 2023, the joint research currently underway, and the AI-MAILs project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and medical AI human resources education center, which is being undertaken at the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine, and expressed his hopes for strengthening collaboration between Nagoya Institute of Technology and the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. KINOSHITA mentioned the closeness of the locations of Nagoya Institute of Technology and the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine, and he talked about the joint research that has been carried out so far and the "Medical Engineering Co-Creation Laboratory'' established at the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine Medical xR Center as a place for daily interaction between these two institutes. He also introduced the "Medical Engineering Exchange Café,'' which has been held regularly since July 2023 as a new place for interaction, and expressed his hopes for promoting collaboration in the future.
