The color of a fingernail turns white when it is pressed for five seconds. Subsequently, when the load is released, the color gradually returns to red. The time required to return to the original color is referred to as the Capillary Refill Time (CRT). It is usually used for simple evaluations of the functionality of circulatory organs. In this study, the authors aimed to noninvasively obtain the blood indices (water content in particular) based on accurate measurement of the CRT. Thus, they estimated the accuracy of measurement required for evaluating the water content. Various improvements were made to the measurement method to attain more accuracy. Although the water content evaluation has not been realized, the CRT accuracy has been improved.
