Small rescue robots that can gather the information and find victims in a tight space at a disaster site are necessary. However, rescue robots tend to increase in size because step climbing ability and miniaturization of rescue robots are trade-off. In order to solve this problem, step climbing ability of small robots is improved by using double multiple -DOFs arms. Moreover, a software by which the robot can automatically climb up a simple step is developed.
