For secure and high-quality wireless transmission, we have proposed a chaos multiple-input multiple-output (C-MIMO) transmission scheme, in which physical layer security and a channel coding effect with a coding rate of 1 are obtained by chaotic MIMO block modulation. However, in previous studies, we only studied the concatenation of turbo code, low-density parity check (LDPC) code, and convolutional code which were relatively high-complexity or weak codes; thus, outer code having further low-complexity and strong error correction ability were expected. On the other hand, polar code, which has been adopted as a standardized channel code for the fifth generation mobile communications system (5G), has low-complexity and strong error correction abilities. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a polar code concatenation to C-MIMO, and realize better performances than those of LDPC code concatenation in terms of calculation complexity and error probability.
Award winner's comments:
I am very honored to receive this great award. I would like to thank Assoc. Prof. Okamoto and lab members for their support and discussion to my research activities. I will complete graduate school at our university in this March, but I continue to do my best in the future with my research experience in the lab and with this award.
