Award-winning research

YAMAUCHI Risako "An Integrated Model for Power Demand Forecasting and Power Procurement Using Economic Indicators"

There is a movement in the power industry to compete in the power market and expand the introduction of renewable energy. However, the output of renewable energy is unstable, and power companies need to delicately manage the amount of electricity transmitted and generated. Therefore, I proposed a model that minimizes the total cost of electric power companies and consumers as an objective function. This research allows power companies to create power plans that are the lowest cost for themselves and their customers, and that meet environmental standards.

SAKURAI Wataru "An Optimization Model of a Retailer and a Manufacturer in a Green Supply Chain"

In recent years, the development of sustainable supply chains has become an urgent issue for governments and companies. In this study, we considered a green supply chain model in which a manufacturer collects unsold items from a retailer's store under stochastic demand fluctuations, and then produce new products and reproduce them using collected items. We analyzed the optimal decisions on ordering policies, retail and wholesale prices, and green investment that maximize the expected rewards for a retailer and a manufacturer, considering the carbon tax system for CO2 emissions during the production process.

HORIE Kirana "Optimal Strategies of Electricity Plans Using Latent Class Analysis Considering Renewable Energy"

Since power generation from renewable energy is a trend, and the general public is also forced to bear the burden in the form of a levy, the importance and demand for a convincing power plan is increasing. Therefore, we used factor analysis to find latent factors, presented materials for environmental risks, and proposed a power plan by using a latent class logit model.

Award winner's comments

YAMAUCHI Risako

I am honored to receive the STUDENT BEST PAPER AWARD. I believe that this is entirely due to the guidance of my supervisor, Associate Professor Sun Jing, who has been kindly guiding me on a daily basis, and the guidance of my university professors. We intend to continue our research in order to increase the usefulness of the optimal power distribution model that we propose. Thank you for your continued support.

SAKURAI Wataru

I am extremely pleased, but I also have received undeserved awards, I am extremely grateful. I believe this is due to the presence of my supervisor, Professor Koichi Nakade who has always kindly given me guidance, and the laboratory members and my friends who have talked with me about my research. I will continue to do my best in my research activities.

HORIE Kirana

I am filled with joy and surprise. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to Associate Professor Sun, who usually gives me kind guidance, and Mr. Marui for conducting this research. And for the time being, this is the time when I am finishing my graduation thesis, so I want to write it up and graduate.
