Outline
The Japan Creation Awards recognizes "creative work that contributes to the creation of a richer lifestyle and culture." The awards recognize individuals and projects that have pioneered a new era from a creative perspective regardless of genre, including products, technology, arts and cultural activities, regional development, the environment, and welfare, with the aim of widely publicizing the excellence of such work.
Professor KITAGAWA Keisuke and Researcher KITAGAWA Tamami (Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Industrial Management Engineering Group) delivered the instant houses to the affected areas the day after the Noto Peninsula Earthquake occurred in 2024. Since then, in response to requests from the affected areas, they have worked hard to establish a mass-production system and made the houses together with the victims, helping them to grow fond of them and use them to give them hope for the future.
These activities were recognized and led to the award.
