Theme

NGK Environment Innovation Laboratory (NIL), based on “Environment Innovation Strategy” (2020) by the Government of Japan, creates innovations in the fields of energy and environment, and contributes to significant reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions as much as possible.
We, at first, work on material development for next-generation power semiconductors and high-performance batteries, both of which are selected as the 39 themes in the “Environment Innovation Strategy”.

Target of researches

(1) Materials for Next-generation power semiconductor Wafer for next-generation power semiconductor devices
(2) Materials for High-performance battery Solid electrolyte and separator, made of high ionic conductive ceramics
