Meeting the SDGs: Enabling the Goals by Cooperation with Crowd using Conversational AI Platform

Jawad Haqbeen, Takayuki Ito, Sofia Sahab, Rafik Hadfi, Takumi Sato and Shun Okuhara

We engage large-scale number of citizens in collaboration with local government using online discussion system based on artificial facilitation to discuss related sustainable development goals (SDGs) agenda within their communities. Our hypothesis was that artificial facilitation fuel the government-citizens initiated discussions by engaging humans to generate more ideas for given issues, and can lead the discussion to reach an agreement for plan and policy-making.

Award winner's comments

I am honored to have received an honorable award.
I am very grateful for all this support from my supervisor Professor Takayuki Ito, Kyoto University and Professor Shohei Kato, and our laboratory members. I would like to make further efforts to improve quality of artificial facilitation by defining a set of quality index and conducting more field trails.
