The research paper which was published in the scientific journal Chemical Science of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), was selected as the Front Cover Art by the journal on April 28, 2023 (Fig. 1). The title of the paper is "Synthesis of triarylmethanes by silyl radical-mediated cross-coupling of aryl fluorides and arylmethane." It was co-authored by Dr. Jun Zhou, Mr. Zhengyu Zhao (third year of the Department of Nanopharmaceutical Sciences), Ms. Bingyao Jiang (second year of the Department of Life Science and Applied Chemistry at the time of research), Associate Professor Katsuhiro Yamamoto (Department of Engineering (Life Science and Applied Chemistry)), Associate Professor Yuji Sumii (Department of Engineering (Life Science and Applied Chemistry)), and Professor Norio Shibata (Department of Nanopharmaceutical Sciences and Department of Engineering (Life Science and Applied Chemistry)).

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of artistic collaboration as the cover art comes to life through the brushstrokes of a Japanese-style painter. The enchanting masterpiece, titled "Landscape with a Windmill," is an exquisite visual representation of the intricate electron flow within the advanced reaction mechanism discovered by Professor Shibata and his colleagues.
In their relentless pursuit of innovation, Professor Shibata ardently upholds the belief that science is a boundless realm of creation, where the fusion of engineering and art is paramount. Since 2013, they have been actively releasing a series of collaborative works with Japanese-style painters as an integral part of their research efforts. This is their 25th artwork.
