The Horizon Prizes are awarded by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) to research groups that have opened up new directions and possibilities for research through groundbreaking discoveries and innovative results in the field of chemistry. In particular, the Organic Chemistry Horizon Prize is awarded for recent important new discoveries and research advancements in the field of organic chemistry, and the Fluorine Circularity Team, led by Emeritus Professor SHIBATA Norio of our university and including Jorge Escorihuela of the University of Valencia, was selected as the recipient for 2026.
